Job Description
The Office of the Chief Justice is inviting applications for a Data Capturer position at the Land Court in Randburg.
This opportunity is suitable for candidates with a Grade 12 certificate.
No experience is required.
The successful candidate will capture, verify, review and validate court-related data using available records and required formats such as databases, tables and spreadsheets.
The role also includes supporting court administration, managing records, assisting with correspondence, preparing files and ensuring court documents are organised and properly filed.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate.
- No experience required.
- Must undertake a pre-entry practical exercise as part of the assessment method.
- Must undergo a pre-entry practical exercise to determine suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements.

Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Capturing data from available records into required formats.
- Capturing data into databases.

- Verifying missing data.
- Verifying errors observed during data entry.
- Reviewing and validating data from records.
- Submitting data to the supervisor.
- Extracting data as required.
- Making regular backups of data.
- Updating registers.
- Updating statistics.
- Keeping records and files.
- Ensuring records and files are properly sorted.
- Ensuring records and files are properly secured.
- Providing information to components.
- Providing source personnel with available data sources when required.
- Collecting applications for default judgment.
- Collecting applications for taxation from the general office.
- Collecting correspondence from the general office.
- Distributing files and correspondence to Registrars.
- Providing other support required by the Judiciary.
- Providing other support required by the Court Manager.
- Providing other support required by the supervisor.
- Providing information to Attorneys regarding quasi-judicial matters.
- Keeping and maintaining records and files in an organised method.
- Ensuring all case records and court documents for data capturing are kept safely while in possession.
- Attending to Attorneys’ queries relating to quasi-judicial matters.
- Reviewing and validating all data from files.
- Opening files.
- Sorting and distributing incoming data to be captured equally.
