Job Description
The Office of the Chief Justice is inviting applications for a Registrar’s Clerk position at the Land Court in Randburg.
This opportunity is suitable for candidates with a Grade 12 certificate.
No experience is required.
The successful candidate will support the Registrar’s office by registering and allocating case numbers, managing court files, retrieving case records, responding to queries, maintaining records and supporting court administration.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate.
- No experience required.
- Must undertake a pre-entry practical exercise as part of the assessment method.
- Must undergo a pre-entry practical exercise to determine suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements.

Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Registering case numbers to all pleadings and court documents received.
- Allocating case numbers to all pleadings and court documents received.
- Ensuring all files served to all parties concerned have proof of service.
- Drawing up files for litigants.
- Drawing up files for attorneys.
- Updating files of return service.
- Updating proof of service.
- Safekeeping and disposing of case records.
- Retrieving requested files.
- Making requested files available to the requester.
- Attending to queries from parties.
- Attending to queries from members of the public.
- Recording documents received.
- Ensuring the correct filing of documents.
- Attending to case management.
- Setting down notices.
- Implementing case management practices.
- Placing request forms in the space of a file requested.
- Completing movement sheets for requested files.
- Rendering case management duties.
- Monitoring files and records according to case management.
