Job Description
Givaudan is inviting applications for an Operations Learner / Production Learner opportunity based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
The successful candidate will work under direct supervision and follow established procedures and guidelines while supporting production operations.
The learner will assist with production orders assigned by the Shift Leader and Senior Production Operator, while performing simple manual tasks within the production process.
This opportunity is suitable for candidates who want to gain workplace exposure in manufacturing, operations, production, quality standards and process improvement.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Following established procedures and guidelines.
- Supporting production orders assigned by the Shift Leader.
- Supporting production orders assigned by the Senior Production Operator.
- Performing simple manual tasks in the production process.
- Performing basic operations on designated machines and production equipment.
- Working under the supervision of experienced operators or leaders.
- Supporting safe and timely manufacturing of products.
- Following predefined process instructions.
- Meeting specific quality standards.
- Reading control instruments accurately.
- Preparing neat and accurate operational records.
- Troubleshooting problems under guidance.
- Providing assistance during production troubleshooting.
- Assisting with in-process quality testing.
- Identifying deviations.
- Documenting deviations according to standard operating procedures.
- Communicating deviations according to standard operating procedures.
- Preparing product packaging for the next production step.
- Preparing product packaging for final shipment to customers.
- Maintaining a neat, orderly and clean shop floor.
- Completing sanitation duties as required.
- Completing housekeeping duties as required.
- Participating in process improvement activities.
- Participating in Lean activities in designated areas.
- Attending class as required.
- Successfully completing the learnership programme.
Production Equipment Exposure
