Job Description

The Department of Health is inviting applications for the Messenger (Pharmacy) position at Steve Biko Academic Hospital.

This role is ideal for a dependable and organised candidate who can support the daily movement of files, medicine packets, and pharmacy stock between the pharmacy, wards, and other hospital units. The successful candidate will help ensure that pharmacy-related items are collected and delivered on time while maintaining proper records and assisting with internal stock movement.

Responsibilities

• Collect files from wards and other units to the pharmacy according to schedule and when requested.
• Deliver stock to wards, including ward stock, vacuities, and medicine packets.
• Keep records of files collected and stock delivered.
• Move boxes of stock within the pharmacy.
• Support the smooth running of pharmacy logistics and internal distribution processes.

Requirements

• Standard/Grade 10 or NQF Level 2.
• Basic literacy skills (ability to read and write).
• Basic communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
