About the Opportunity

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is inviting applications for two Cleaner: Facilities Management posts.

The available posts are based at Groblersdal Magistrate Court and Thabazimbi Magistrate Court. The successful candidates will be responsible for cleaning buildings, toilets, kitchens and supporting general safety within the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Clean buildings effectively.
• Empty dustbins.
• Dust and polish wooden tables and other wooden furniture.
• Refill water bottles with fresh water.
• Clean windows and walls.
• Wash floors.
• Vacuum carpets.
• Deep clean toilets.
• Refill toilet dispensers with toilet paper and hand-washing soap.
• Wash toilet floors.
• Wash kitchen floors.
• Clean kitchen utensils.
• Assist with tea and coffee during forums and other meetings.
• Report defects encountered during cleaning.
• Alert staff about slippery floors and stairs.
• Alert the supervisor about failed light bulbs and locks that are not working.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 9 / ABET Level 4 or equivalent qualification
• No experience required

• Good interpersonal skills
• Basic communication skills
• Basic literacy
• Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks
• Ability to work physically for long hours
• Ability to handle cleaning equipment
• Ability to conduct stock count

Working Conditions
