The Department of Water and Sanitation is inviting applications for the position of Switchboard Operator.

This opportunity falls under the Infrastructure Management: Southern Operations branch, within the Operations Southern Directorate. The post is based at Breede / Gouritz in Worcester, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Render switchboard services.
• Attend to incoming telephone calls.
• Attend to outgoing telephone calls.
• Maintain the switchboard system.
• Transfer calls to relevant extensions.
• Operate the telecommunication system.
• Report faulty telephone systems and faulty extensions within the organisation.
• Manage files and records.

Minimum Requirements

• Senior Certificate / Grade 12
