Description

Foot Gear SA is looking for an Office Cleaner to work from Monday to Friday at its Tyger Valley premises in Cape Town.

The successful candidate will ensure that offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, washrooms, and shared spaces remain clean, hygienic, safe, and presentable. The role contributes to creating a welcoming environment for employees, customers, and visitors.

Responsibilities

Cleaning and Housekeeping

• Clean and sanitise office workstations, desks, tables, chairs, and office equipment.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors when required.
• Dust furniture, blinds, windowsills, shelves, and other surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect kitchens, canteens, and food-preparation areas.
• Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms, and changing facilities.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish according to company procedures.
• Replenish toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, and other consumable supplies.
• Ensure meeting rooms are clean and prepared before meetings.

Health, Safety and Hygiene

• Follow company health and safety procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to the provided instructions.
• Report maintenance problems, breakages, hazards, and safety concerns immediately.
• Complete cleaning activities without unnecessarily disrupting business operations.

Stock and Equipment Management

• Monitor cleaning-supply levels.
• Report cleaning-product and consumable shortages.
• Care for and maintain cleaning equipment and tools.
• Report damaged or faulty equipment.

General Support

• Assist with additional cleaning tasks during company events and meetings.
• Support deep-cleaning activities when required.
• Maintain a professional and courteous manner when interacting with employees and visitors.

Requirements

• Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification.
• Grade 12 would be advantageous.
• Previous cleaning experience in an office, retail, commercial, or corporate environment would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
• Must be available to work from Monday to Friday.
