Job Description
Givaudan is inviting applications for a Sales Assistant Learner position based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The successful candidate will support the Key Account Manager and the broader Commercial team by assisting with customer project systems, sales coordination, customer follow-ups, sample management, administrative duties, and commercial data maintenance.
This role is ideal for a candidate who wants to gain practical workplace experience in sales, marketing, communications, customer support, and business administration within a global company.
Responsibilities
Sales Coordination
- Prepare monthly sales reports to monitor customer and territory performance.
- Support the Sales Team with CRM activities to keep customer information accurate and up to date.
- Plan and coordinate customer visits with the Sales Team.
- Arrange customer meetings and visits according to business priorities and schedules.
- Assist with preparing presentation materials for customer engagements.
- Manage price quotation requests and ensure timely communication with customers.
- Monitor customer price adjustment schedules and update pricing information across systems.
- Maintain accurate customer Master Data across commercial systems and processes.
- Assist the Key Account Manager with customer identification activities in new territories.
- Assist with quarterly updates of the territory potential file.
Sample Management
- Request samples from production units through the CRM system for customer briefs or product comparisons.
- Coordinate and dispatch customer samples with the required documentation and certifications.
- Track sample requests within the customer project system.
- Communicate with customers regarding sample status and delivery timelines.
Administrative and Secretarial Support
- Assist with travel arrangements for the Key Account Manager.
- Take minutes and record actions during project meetings.
- Monitor project timelines and send reminders to team members.
- Handle filing and correspondence for the department.
- Maintain electronic filing systems for customer documentation, visit reports, and product information.
- Support communication with cross-functional teams including Development, Marketing, CMI, and System Power-Users.
Requirements
- Business Administration qualification or equivalent.
- Interest in sales, marketing, communications, customer service, and commercial administration.
- Ability to work on-site in Johannesburg.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational and coordination ability.
- Willingness to learn and support a commercial team environment.
- Preference will be given to EE candidates.
