HEINEKEN Beverages is inviting applications for a Packaging Learner opportunity based at the Sedibeng Manufacturing Plant in Johannesburg, South Africa.

This learnership focuses on NQF Level 3 Packaging Operations and is designed to provide learners with practical workplace experience and technical training in packaging processes within a manufacturing environment.

At the end of the programme, learners should be able to demonstrate understanding and competence in packaging operations, quality control, health and safety, asset management, first-line maintenance, and problem-solving techniques.

Learning Areas

Learners will gain exposure to the operation of the following packaging processes:

• Filling and date coding
• Sealing
• Packing and unpacking
• Labelling
• First-line maintenance
• Problem-solving using problem-solving techniques and methods
• Applying health and safety regulations
• Quality control of packaging processes
• Asset management

Responsibilities

• Participate in the learnership programme and complete all required learning activities.
• Learn and apply packaging operations processes.
• Support filling, sealing, packing, unpacking, labelling, and date coding activities.
• Follow health and safety regulations in the workplace.
• Assist with quality control during packaging operations.
• Apply basic problem-solving techniques when required.
• Support first-line maintenance activities.
• Follow safe working procedures and workplace instructions.
• Work shifts or extended hours when required.
• Prepare for and complete formal assessments as part of the programme.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Pure Mathematics as a subject.
• English as a subject.
• Strong academic results will be advantageous.
• Technical orientation and ability.
• Ability to initiate, focus on, and complete technical or mechanical tasks.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of safe working procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Must be willing to work shifts or extended hours when required.
• Shortlisted candidates will undergo a formal assessment.
