Programme Purpose

The purpose of the learnership is to provide learners with practical workplace exposure while helping them develop job-ready skills in a professional logistics environment.

Learners may gain exposure to warehouse operations, transport support, freight handling, administration, stock movement, customer service and workplace safety, depending on the placement.

Possible Responsibilities

Successful learners may be exposed to:

• Supporting warehouse and logistics operations.
• Assisting with stock handling and movement.
• Supporting freight handling activities.
• Following workplace procedures and safety rules.
• Assisting with administration where required.
• Working with teams in a logistics or supply chain environment.
• Learning how transport and logistics operations are managed.
• Completing learnership tasks, activities and assessments.
• Building communication, teamwork and workplace readiness skills.
• Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe.
• Following instructions from supervisors and team leaders.

Requirements

Applicants should prepare for the following requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Must be interested in logistics, warehousing, transport or supply chain.
• Must be willing to learn.
• Must be reliable and professional.
• Must be able to follow instructions.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be able to work well in a team.
• Must be able to commit to the learnership programme.
• Computer literacy may be advantageous.
• Previous warehouse or logistics exposure may be advantageous, depending on the location.
