Job Description

Rand Water is inviting applications for its Public Service Administrator Learnership Programme: NQF Level 5 based in Rietvlei, Glenvista, Gauteng.

This is a contract learnership opportunity aimed at unemployed South African youth who want to gain workplace exposure and develop public administration skills.

The programme supports skills development in line with the National Skills Development Strategy and is focused on preparing learners for administrative roles within a public service and water sector environment.

Successful learners will gain exposure to office administration, records management, correspondence, customer service, meeting support, project monitoring, data capturing and public service procedures.

Programme Purpose

The purpose of this learnership is to provide unemployed youth with structured learning and workplace exposure in public service administration.

Learners will develop practical administration, communication, customer service, recordkeeping and office support skills while gaining exposure to Rand Water’s mandate and contribution to the water sector.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Must be unemployed.
• Must not be enrolled with any institution for a qualification.
• Must not be registered in any learnership programme.
• Must not have a completed post-matric qualification.
• Applicants with a completed post-matric qualification must not apply and will not be considered.
• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must have a valid South African ID.
• Must be between 18 and 35 years old.

Applicants must have Matric / Grade 12 with either:

• Mathematics minimum Level 4 or higher, or Maths Literacy minimum Level 5 or higher.
• Physical Science minimum Level 4 or higher.

OR

• Mathematics minimum Level 4 or higher, or Maths Literacy minimum Level 5 or higher.
• Business Studies minimum Level 4 or higher.

Required Documents

The following documents must accompany the application:

• Certified copy of ID document.
• Certified copy of Matric certificate.
• SAQA / NLRD verification report.
• CV.

Primary Duties

Successful learners may be exposed to the following duties:

• Ensure work is aligned with public service policies and procedures.
• Follow government regulations and ethical standards.

• Capture data and maintain electronic records.
• Prepare presentations and spreadsheets.
