Job Description

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is inviting applications for the Registry Clerk: Provisioning and Logistics Management position.

This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates who can support registry operations, records management, document handling, and related administrative services within the component.

The successful candidate will assist with registry counter services, incoming and outgoing mail, file management, invoice registration, and general support to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide registry counter services.
• Attend to clients’ enquiries.
• Handle telephonic and other enquiries received.
• Receive all mail, sort, register, and dispatch mail.
• Distribute notices on registry issues.
• Handle postage and mailing of departmental documents to various destinations.
• Render courier services.
• Open and close files according to the record classification system.
• Perform filing, storage, tracing, and retrieval of documents and files electronically and manually.
• Render administrative support to internal and external clients.
• Manage the receipt and distribution of documents.
• Receive, verify, and register invoices on the Reapatala System.
• Draw or download Reapatala reports and file them electronically and manually.
• Operate office machines in relation to registry functions.
• Open and maintain the franking machine register.
• Frank post, record money, and update the register daily.

Requirements

• National Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
• No experience required.
• Understanding of a central registry environment.
• Completion of a Records Management or Archives course will be an added advantage.
