Job Description
Services SETA is inviting applications for a Cleaner position based in JHB North, Gauteng.
The successful candidate will perform housekeeping duties and ensure that offices, boardrooms and general-use spaces are clean, tidy and properly maintained.
The role also includes managing cleaning rosters, monitoring stock and supplies, serving refreshments when required and supporting a healthy and clean working environment across the organisation.
This opportunity is suitable for candidates with Grade 10 or equivalent, with corporate housekeeping experience considered an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing housekeeping functions for Services SETA.
- Maintaining and adhering to the cleaning schedule.
- Ensuring offices are cleaned and tidied.
- Ensuring boardrooms are cleaned and tidied.
- Ensuring general-use spaces are cleaned and tidied.
- Completing cleaning rosters.
- Cleaning and disinfecting sinks.
- Cleaning and disinfecting countertops.
- Cleaning and disinfecting toilets.
- Cleaning mirrors.
- Cleaning floors.
- Sweeping floors.
- Mopping floors.
- Vacuuming floors.
- Dusting furniture.
- Dusting equipment.
- Dusting partitions.
- Emptying bins in assigned areas.
- Taking refuse bags to the centralised collection location.
- Cleaning rugs.
- Cleaning carpets.
- Cleaning upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner.
- Washing walls.
- Washing woodwork.
- Washing windows.
- Washing door panels.
- Washing partitions.
- Washing sills.
- Looking after cleaning equipment.
- Ensuring cleaning equipment remains in good running order.
- Welcoming visitors in a professional manner.
- Offering refreshments to visitors when appropriate.
- Ensuring staff and visitors are well catered for.
- Serving refreshments timeously.
- Checking that all tools and materials required for work are available.
- Regularly inspecting the premises.
- Reporting malfunctions timeously.
Stock and Supplies Duties
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:
- Keeping track of stock and relevant supplies.
- Replenishing bathroom supplies.
- Polishing metalwork, including fixtures and fittings.
- Ensuring sufficient stock of general beverages.
- Ensuring sufficient stock of cleaning equipment.
- Reporting stock replacement needs to the Manager or Senior Officer proactively.
- Conducting weekly inventory checks on stock items and utensils.
- Conducting monthly inventory checks on stock items and utensils.
Department Support
The successful candidate will support the optimisation of the department by:
- Providing support to all units.
- Helping units function properly in a healthy and clean environment.
- Supporting general cleanliness and workplace hygiene standards.
