Job Description
The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for Cleaner positions at Jubilee District Hospital.
There are 6 posts available under the Admin and Logistic Support Directorate.
This opportunity is suitable for candidates with ABET Level 4, Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification who are physically fit and able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
The successful candidates will be responsible for cleaning designated areas in the hospital, maintaining hygiene standards, handling waste correctly, taking care of cleaning equipment and supporting infection control through proper cleaning practices.

The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Cleaning all designated areas in the institution.
- Cleaning windows.
- Cleaning walls.
- Cleaning basins.
- Cleaning sinks.
- Cleaning lockers.
- Cleaning beds.
- Cleaning kitchens.
- Cleaning bathrooms.
- Sweeping floors.
- Mopping floors.
- Polishing floors.
- Providing routine general work and compliance services.
- Opening windows daily for hygiene and infection control purposes.
- Performing damp dusting.
- Performing dry dusting.
- Emptying dustbins in designated areas.
- Assessing and updating toilet cleaning checklists.
- Maintaining toilet cleaning standards in line with hygiene requirements.
- Requesting and replacing toilet paper, towels and hand soap.
- Removing waste and storing it in designated areas.
- Reporting hazardous threats in the environment.
- Maintaining environmental cleanliness.
- Cleaning and taking proper care of cleaning equipment.
- Storing and safeguarding cleaning materials and equipment.
- Reporting electrical or mechanical malfunction of cleaning machines.
- Reporting malfunction of other related cleaning equipment.
