Takealot Marketplace is inviting applications for the Digital Marketing Learnership Programme for 2026/2027.

This 12-month fixed-term learnership is offered in partnership with the Youth Employment Service and the Services Sector Education and Training Authority. The programme is designed to give unemployed young South Africans practical workplace experience and structured training in digital marketing, e-commerce, online selling, and marketplace operations.

Participants will be placed with small businesses operating on the Takealot Marketplace platform, where they will support product listings, online store setup, content creation, customer engagement, and basic e-commerce operations.

This opportunity is suitable for unemployed youth under the age of 30 who have completed Matric and are eager to gain real-world experience in the growing digital economy.

Responsibilities

• Support small businesses operating on the Takealot Marketplace platform.
• Assist with product listings and online store setup.
• Help write and update product information for online platforms.
• Support marketing activities and content creation.
• Assist with basic product photography and visual content preparation.
• Learn e-commerce operations, including logistics and customer service.
• Participate in formal digital marketing and e-commerce training.
• Take part in workplace experience through SMME placement.
• Complete programme assessments and evaluation activities.
• Support customer engagement and online selling activities.
• Apply digital marketing and marketplace skills in a real business environment.
• Build practical experience while contributing to the growth of small businesses.

Requirements

• Must be unemployed.
• Must be under the age of 30.
• Must have less than 6 months of work experience.
• Must have completed Matric / Grade 12.
• Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID.
• Must have basic computer literacy.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Must have reliable transport or be willing to relocate.
• Must reside within 40km of the placement location.
• Must have no criminal record.
• Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Must be willing to participate in training, workplace experience, assessments, and certification activities.
