Sasol is inviting applications for Chemical Plant Operator Learnership opportunities based in Komatipoort, Mpumalanga.

There are 4 learnership positions available.

Sasol is a global integrated chemicals and energy company with a 75-year heritage. The company manufactures and markets chemical and energy products globally while focusing on safety, sustainability, diversity and inclusion.

This learnership programme is designed to provide learners with on-the-job learning supported by structured or institutional learning. Successful candidates will participate in workplace readiness activities and complete the required assessments as part of the programme.

Preference will be given to candidates from the Nkomazi area.

Programme Description

Learnerships are learning programmes that require workplace learning supported by structured or institutional learning.

The programme will give learners practical workplace exposure while they complete the required learning and assessment activities.

Core Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

• Participate in the learnership programme.
• Successfully complete the required assessment process.
• Participate in all workplace readiness activities.
• Participate in all workplace readiness exercises.
• Follow programme instructions and workplace requirements.
• Build practical knowledge linked to chemical plant operations.
• Work safely and responsibly in line with Sasol’s standards.

Requirements

Applicants must have one of the following:

Option 1: Grade 12 National Senior Certificate

A completed Grade 12 National Senior Certificate with 6 subjects and a pass in:

• Technical Mathematics or Mathematics
• English
• Technical Science or Physical Science

Option 2: N3 National Senior Certificate

A completed N3 National Senior Certificate with 6 subjects and a pass in:

• Mathematics
• English
• Engineering Science

Preference

Preference will be given to candidates from the Nkomazi area.

Preference will also be given to applicants from designated groups and people with disabilities according to Sasol’s Employment Equity Plan.
