Job Description

The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for the Material Recording Clerk Level 5 position at Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital. This role is suited to candidates who can support procurement administration, warehouse operations, stock control, and asset management within a hospital environment.

The successful candidate will help manage the acquisition of goods and services, maintain accurate transaction records, support quotation processes, process purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and assist with asset recording and disposal processes. This is a good opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a structured supply chain setting.

Responsibilities

• Acquire goods and services in line with Supply Chain Management policies and procedures
• Maintain records of all transactions related to the acquisition of goods and services
• Prepare documents for the quotation adjudication committee
• Capture requisitions for the creation of purchase orders
• Ensure all documents comply with CSD reports before capturing
• Follow up on deliveries and keep accurate 0-9 file records
• Support payment of suppliers within 30 days
• Assist with warehouse management, receiving, and distribution of stock
• Record all transactions on VA10 and VA11
• Barcode newly received assets and deliver them to end users
• Record all received assets on the hospital Asset Register
• Reconcile assets procured monthly between BAS/SAP and the Asset Register
• Conduct asset verification and update sub-asset registers
• Prepare documents for assets identified for disposal
• Arrange disposal lots for the Disposal Committee

Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate, National Senior Certificate, or NQF Level 4
• A minimum of one year experience within the SCM environment will be an added advantage
• Knowledge and understanding of procurement policies and procedures
• Knowledge of PFMA, PPPFA, BBBEE, Treasury Regulations, Asset Management Policy, and Warehouse Management
• Knowledge of SCM Practice Notes and related prescripts
• Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Computer literacy is essential
