Job Description

The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for a Store Assistant position at Jubilee District Hospital.

This opportunity falls under the Supply Chain Management Directorate.

The role is suitable for candidates with a minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent qualification. No experience is required.

The successful candidate will assist with the distribution of stock and equipment, packing shelves, safeguarding inventory, updating bin cards, supporting stocktaking and maintaining a neat and safe store environment according to OHS regulations.

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Distributing newly acquired stock and equipment to wards.
• Distributing stock and equipment to other hospital sections.
• Distributing stock to end users.
• Packing shelves in the relevant warehouse.
• Ensuring stock received is packed appropriately.
• Ensuring stock is rotated correctly.
• Safeguarding inventory items.
• Keeping the store neat and tidy according to OHS regulations.
• Updating bin cards immediately.
• Applying the FIFO method.
• Assisting with inventory stocktaking.
• Communicating effectively with fellow team members.
• Communicating effectively with relevant stakeholders within the institution.
