Job Description

The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for Administration Clerk Level 5 positions within the Patient Affairs Directorate at Pholosong Regional Hospital.

The successful candidates will support patient administration by registering and admitting patients on SAP/HIS or manually, classifying patients according to the Uniform Patient Fee Schedule, completing administrative documents, billing patients, collecting payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate patient records.

This role is suitable for candidates with Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification, computer literacy, good communication skills, and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Register and admit patients on SAP/HIS or manually.
• Classify patients according to the Uniform Patient Fee Schedule.
• Complete administrative documents accurately.
• Bill patients and collect payments.
• Issue receipts to patients.
• Balance the in-paying register at the end of every shift.
• Capture patient data correctly to ensure appropriate data quality.
• Capture admissions and discharges correctly.
• Ensure working materials and equipment are available.
• Report lost, damaged, or dysfunctional equipment.
• Assist with stock ordering.
• Support the structuring of stock management systems.
• Compile patient statistics on a daily and monthly basis.
• Ensure patient files are correctly and completely compiled.
• Support patient affairs administration as required.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• No experience required.
• Computer literacy.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to apply Batho Pele Principles in a work situation.
• Willingness to work shifts.
• Willingness to work weekends.
• Willingness to work on public holidays.
• Qualification in Public Management, Business Management, Office Management, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of patient and billing systems will be an added advantage.
• Previous EPWP experience will be an added advantage.
