The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for the Administration Clerk position at Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital. This role is suited to candidates who can support patient administration, records management, cashier functions, and general administrative duties in a hospital environment.

The successful candidate will help ensure that patient information is captured accurately, records are properly maintained, enquiries are handled professionally, and administrative processes are completed in line with hospital guidelines and policies. This is a solid opportunity for someone who is organised, computer literate, and able to work under pressure in a shift-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out administration duties in accordance with patient administration guidelines and policies
• Work with the mandates that govern patient administration
• Perform duties related to patient administration and records management
• Capture patient data accurately and correctly, both electronically and manually
• Record personal details, supporting documents, and classification information
• Retrieve and file patient records
• Perform cashier duties, including collection of patient fees
• Maintain proper records and collect patient information with regular updates
• Adhere to requirements and changes from internal and external stakeholders
• Use relevant registers, GPF3, GR01, and other forms during system downtime
• Capture patient information immediately when SAP/HIS is back online to meet time frames
• Ensure accurate completion of GPF3, GPF4, GPF5, TPH 31, and TPH 14
• Rotate as clerks and ensure proper handling of telephone enquiries
• Handle patient valuables and belongings using TPH 160
• Manage face value books properly

Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate, National Senior Certificate, or NQF Level 4
• A minimum of 1 year experience in a patient administration environment will be an added advantage
• Computer literacy

• Ability to work under pressure
• Shift work is compulsory, including night shift, weekends, and public holidays
• Understanding of Batho Pele Principles in relation to the Patient Affairs Department
