The Capital Hotels is inviting applications for a Banqueting Waiter position based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

The Banqueting Waiter will be responsible for serving food and beverages at conferences and function areas in a friendly, fast and efficient manner.

The role focuses mainly on front-of-house service, function setup and breakdown, and stock-related support.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with banqueting waiter experience who are presentable, well spoken, trustworthy, detail-focused and able to work shifts in a hospitality environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Serving food and beverages at conferences.
• Serving food and beverages in function areas.
• Providing friendly, fast and efficient service.
• Supporting front-of-house banqueting operations.
• Assisting with function setup.
• Assisting with function breakdown.
• Supporting stock-related duties.
• Maintaining high hospitality service standards.
• Working as part of a team during functions and events.
• Assisting guests professionally and courteously.
• Supporting smooth banqueting and conference operations.
• Maintaining a clean, professional and presentable service area.
• Following hotel service procedures and standards.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Matric.
• Hospitality Qualification or similar.
• 1 - 2 years Banqueting Waiter experience.
• Hands-on problem-solving approach.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently when required.
• Must be honest and trustworthy.
• Great attention to detail.
• Must be presentable.
• Must be well spoken.
• Must be a team player who leads by example.
• Ability to work shifts.

Important Note

Relocation costs will be for the applicant’s own expense if the application is successful and the applicant lives outside the city where the hotel is located.
